Jorge Ordóñez, the importer on the back of the label, is the United States' most important pioneer for the Albariño grape and the D.O. region Rias Baixas. He was the first person to introduce this grape and region to the U.S. in 1991.

Cana is the term for the groves of sugar canes which are emblematic in Galicia, an autonomous community of Spain and historic nationality under Spanish law, located in the northwest Iberian Peninsula.
